Why is LMAF happening?
LMAF was started with a mission to bring cultural music and arts to the lowcountry. While the Charleston, SC offers several other music festivals throughout the year, they all lend their hand towards commercialization and main-stream media. Here at the LMAF organization, we are focusing on our three core ideals:
- To bring the Mountains to the Lowcountry;
- To end the summer with the best Festival ever;
- To bring music and arts to the Charleston, SC effectively
Is the LMAF a non-profit?
In Fact, we ARE!
The LMAF is not here to make someone rich, it’s here to make everyone rich in music. The organization will not only promote music and arts education through donations and partnerships with the Charleston, SC area, we also hope to help those who financially in need to further their education.
Each year, The LMAF will offer a scholarship fund to High School seniors who show a financial need to further their education. In addition to a scholarship fund, The LMAF understands that college money is not the only need these students have. 25 High School seniors who are accepted and intending to enroll in a college program after graduation, will be eligible for a “College Preparation Tool-kit”. This toolkit will contain many of the items a first year college student needs to be successful.
Can I camp at the Festival?
Of course! In Fact, We encourage it! We believe that to receive the full festival experience, camping on site is advised. We will offer tent and RV camping sites. Please understand that the facility will NOT offer any electricity. For those who can’t or won’t camp on-site, there are hotels nearby that we will be partnering with and offering a daily shuttle to and from.
